Change of Venue for Rides and Events

While we will continue to announce some rides via the ESS home page, Twitter and facebook, we are now turning over the majority of rides and events planning and information to scootnashville.com. Ross, Jason and Jeff are presently holding semi-monthly meetings with the Nashville scooter community, and gathering ideas for a lot of great rides and events to come for 2011. So, check out scootnashville.com, and get involved with the local scootering community, today!

Hot Dog Run, Saturday 11/21/2009

Yes, we have no bananas, but everyone likes a good hot dog... which is why we're stealing Jason's idea for a Hot Dog Run (with his blessing), on Saturday, November 21, starting here at East Side Scooters at 11:30 a.m.

We're still putting the details together for the ride, but we have four of Nashville's finest hot dog purveyors lined up, with a possible fifth to be added. Stay tuned here at the web site, follow our Tweets on Twitter, or if you're on our mailing list, check your e-mail for more details... coming soon. And may the best dog win!

UPDATE: We've finalized the ride route for the Hot Dog Run (see map above). We'll be feasting at the following franchisers of fine franks:

I Dream of Weenie

The Dog of Nashville

Hot Diggity Dogs

Zackie's Original Hot Dog

So, bring a few bucks, a scooter with a full tank of gas and a hearty appetite as we spend the afternoon casing the town, and sampling some of the Song City's superlative sausages!

IN CASE OF RAIN that morning, check our Twitter updates to check the status of the ride.

End-of-Season Ride, Saturday, 9/5/2009

Two-part End-of-Season Ride!

Saturday, 9/5/2009 from noon until...? Starting Point: East Side Scooters
IN CASE OF RAIN, check our Twitter updates.

Come on down to East Side Scooters on Saturday, and enjoy some good food, good company, and a fun afternoon of scooter-riding! We're doing this ride a little differently, as it's going to be in two parts.

The first part is 50cc-friendly, and it's a pretty fun ride. Part One is a ride through downtown Nashville, and southwest to Percy Warner Park. Inside the park, we have about 30-40 minutes of riding, and we make a couple of stops to take in the scenery. From ESS to the end of this ride should take about 90 minutes, give or take, so allow 2 hours, and you should be fine. We'll make a fuel-up stop on the way at the Exxon at 1111 Broadway, across from the offices of The Tennessean.

Part Two is for the bigger scooters (125cc and up), as there are some 55 mph speed limits. It will start 2 hours after we leave ESS (only want to meet us for Part Two of the ride? Follow us on Twitter for LIVE ride day updates, or check out the bottom of the Fun page for the live updates!), at the end of the Percy Warner Park ride, and continue through West Meade, via Hillwood Blvd., and then to Charlotte Ave., and on to River Road. We'll take River Road out to the Bush Creek Recreational Area. Afterwards, we'll then head back down River Road the way we came, and stop at Norm's River Roadhouse for a beverage and/or some hand-pulled pork. Or, the adventuresome can plot their own course from there (Ashland City is nearby, and there's plenty of good riding on the other side of the river!). You can use the map links below to plot out any additional riding that deviates from the planned ride.

Other details: The famous Mas Tacos truck will be serving Nashville's finest mobile Mexican cuisine starting at noon in the East Side Scooters parking lot. After everyone's eaten, we'll leave ESS to go to Percy Warner Park. We expect to get underway no later than 2 p.m., if there's a big turnout -- earlier if the turnout is light (we want to give everyone a chance to eat, of course). So, for those want to rendezvous for ONLY Part Two of the ride, again, follow us on Twitter for LIVE ride day updates. We'll update Twitter when we leave ESS, and you can meet us two hours later at the Belle Meade entrance of Percy Warner Park, if you like.

Percy Warner Park Ride, Sunday 7/26/09

Three locals did an extensive scooter run through Percy Warner Park last Sunday, and decided that we'd do this every Sunday until people got sick of it. :) Percy Warner Park is a great place to ride, and there's lots of twistys and turnies, not to mention scenery and wildlife and nature to take in. So, if you're hankerin' for a ride this Sunday, meet us at the west end of The Parthenon (opposite the main entrance), Centennial Park, at 2:00 p.m. -- we'll head out of the park onto West End, and hang a left onto Belle Meade Boulevard, right into the main entrance of Percy Warner.

Here's some video of a bit of a Percy Warner Park ride from KymCojones, if you've never been... it is a super nice place to ride.

Hope to see you there!

Sunday Ride on the West Side

Exercise your crosstown mojo this weekend with a West Nashville ride!

UPDATE: RAIN DATE! If it is raining at noon, we will hold this ride the following Sunday, 7/19/2009, same time, same place.

We'll meet up this Sunday, 7/12/2009, at Bobbie's Dairy Dip (5310 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, 37209) at 1:00 for ice cream, lunch or whatever. From there, we'll take a route west down Charlotte Avenue and on to River Road (one of the BEST scooter excursions in the city), winding up at Norm's River Roadhouse (map of the route). Norm's will be hosting their Sunday Acoustic Jam outside, and may be setting up the horseshoe pits... so bring your pitchin' arm, just in case. Norm's features pulled pork barbecue, hand-tossed pizzas and hand-cut fries, so bring an appetite, and stay a spell... this will be one fun outing!

See you on Sunday!

April 11th 2pm Ride!

Meet at East Side Scooters Saturday, April 11th at 2pm. We will be exploring South towards Franklin, which is always a nice ride. I'll probably be drinking Bongo coffee before hand on the East side. I heard Hannah Montana was going to be out and about, and she digs scooters. If you have any questions email willy@eastsidescooters.com.
